Tank Track Alternatives for 2026 | RouteHouse

Tank Track alternatives for septic and grease operators

Tank Track is a well-liked septic product with more than a decade in the trade, a published per-truck price and no contract. Operators usually start looking elsewhere for one of four reasons: the fleet is outgrowing the size Tank Track describes itself as built for, they want GPS on the tank lid, they need a state form Tank Track doesn’t ship, or they run trades beyond septic and grease. This is an honest look at what else exists — with prices printed and every claim linked to the vendor’s own page.

Written by RouteHouse, who make one of the products on this list. We’ve said so at the top rather than the bottom, and we’ve included the places Tank Track is the better choice.

The short version

What do Tank Track alternatives cost?

Tank Track publishes its price, which already puts it ahead of most of this category. Four of the six options below publish a figure; two make you call. Here is what each one charges and what the price scales on.

Do the arithmetic

What 24 months actually costs

Tank Track ships one plan with everything in it, so the fair comparison is RouteHouse Pro — the plan with GPS lid mapping, manifests and state forms. Totals over two years, before tax:

FleetTank Track, monthlyTank Track, annualRouteHouse Pro, monthlyRouteHouse Pro, Year 2 free
1 truck$4,320$3,888$7,176+ $299 setup$2,988
5 trucks$18,720$16,848$35,880+ $299 setup$14,940
10 trucks$36,720$33,048$71,760+ $299 setup$29,880

The honest read. If you will only pay month to month, Tank Track is cheaper than RouteHouse Pro — by a lot. If you’ll pay for the first year up front (or 25% down), Year 2 free makes RouteHouse Pro the lower two-year number at every fleet size above, and it doesn’t stop at ten trucks. If you don’t need lid mapping or manifests, RouteHouse Growth is $179 a truck monthly or $1,788 a truck for 24 months.

Tank Track totals use its published $180 / $150 pricing and 10% annual discount. RouteHouse totals use Pro at $299 per truck monthly and $2,988 per truck for 24 months on Year 2 free.

Being fair about it

When is Tank Track the right call?

Tank Track is the better answer in the real cases below — we’d rather you buy the right thing than buy from us.

  • You pump in Ohio or Texas. Tank Track ships the Ohio Septage Pumping Report Form and Texas TCEQ trip tickets today. We don’t yet. If your state paperwork is the reason you’re shopping, that settles it.
  • You won’t prepay anything. Month to month with no commitment, their price per truck is lower than our Growth and Pro plans.
  • You land-apply. Tank Track’s own comparison guide says it logs land application, and plans routes around how many gallons each truck holds with disposal stops added mid-route.
  • You buy on track record. More than ten years in septic and a strong word-of-mouth following among pumpers is real evidence. We launched in 2026.

Where we’d argue we’re the better fit

Your fleet is past ten trucks or headed there. Your techs lose time hunting for buried lids, especially under snow. You need the Maryland property-transfer form. You run sewer and drain, wells or portable restrooms out of the same office as your pumping. Or you’re willing to prepay a year and want the second one free.

If none of that describes you, Tank Track is probably serving you fine.

Worth checking

Five things to ask Tank Track before you stay

1. Where is the truck limit today? Their FAQ says Tank Track is “ideal for septic pumping and service businesses that manage between one and ten trucks” and that support for more than ten is intended “in a future update.” A January 2025 Pumper spotlight said up to 15. Their newer pricing calculator goes higher. Ask what happens at your size.

2. Which price is current? The homepage shows $180 and $150. Capterra and the homepage’s own search markup still show $149 and $125. Get the number in writing.

3. Can it pin the lid? We found tank type, capacity, location and depth as imported fields, but no GPS pin captured at the lid and navigated back to on the next visit.

4. What’s billed outside the subscription? Payment processing is a $15-a-month add-on plus 2.6% per card and $3.99 per ACH transaction, and their FAQ says cleanup of imported data is a separate hourly service.

5. How does the refund work? The FAQ offers a 60-day money-back guarantee; the terms of use say charges are non-refundable unless stated otherwise. Ask which applies to you.

The alternatives, one at a time

RouteHouse

$119 / $179 / $299 per truck per month · or $1,188 / $1,788 / $2,988 per truck for 24 months on Year 2 free · unlimited users

Septic pumping software built with a working septic operator, from the paper pumping report crews already fill out: gallons, the full checklist and photos captured on a tablet, and the report emailed before the truck pulls away. Works offline at the tank. Pro adds GPS pins on every buried component, manifests and trip tickets, and the Maryland OSDS property-transfer inspection. Grease trap service is included on every septic plan, and sewer & drain, wells and portable restrooms run on the same login.

The honest weakness is that we’re new — no review-site history and no Ohio or Texas forms yet. What you get instead is per-truck pricing with no fleet ceiling, and a product that changes when you ask.

PumpDocket

$139 / $329 / $649 per month (intro $99 / $230 / $454) · banded by truck count · no contract

Flat monthly bands — 1–3 trucks, 4–10, 11+ — with no per-user fees, no contract and a first month free. Septic, grease and restrooms, with state-specific manifest profiles. The closest thing to Tank Track on price simplicity, and it doesn’t stop at ten trucks.

Like us, it’s early, with no Capterra reviews. Do the arithmetic on your own fleet: a flat band is cheap at the top of a band and expensive at the bottom.

ServiceCore

Not published · billed monthly on an annual contract

The established name in portable sanitation, with septic, grease and roll-off alongside. 51 Capterra reviews averaging 4.0 — the deepest independent review base in liquid waste. If restrooms are most of your business, it belongs on the list.

It’s the opposite of Tank Track on terms: no published price, an annual contract, and implementation its own site puts at six to twelve weeks. Our ServiceCore alternatives page goes deeper.

Septic Management Solutions

From $49 per month, rising with team size

The lowest published entry price here. Septic and grease, with offline data capture and the ability to assign coordinates to septic systems, per its own site.

The price grows with headcount rather than trucks, so check what your office and crew add before comparing it to a per-truck number. No Capterra reviews.

Basestation

Not published · Capterra 4.7 from 27 reviews

A broader field-service and liquid-waste platform, and one of the alternatives Capterra lists next to Tank Track. It has the strongest review score of anything on this page.

Pricing is by request, so you’ll need a sales call to compare.

Straight answers

Questions operators actually ask

  • How much does Tank Track cost? Tank Track's homepage lists $180 per month for the first truck and $150 per month for every truck after that, with 10% off on an annual plan and unlimited users. That is the price shown on 17 October 2026. Some third-party listings and Tank Track's own page markup still carry an older $149 and $125 price, so confirm the current figure with them.
  • Does Tank Track require a contract? No. Tank Track's FAQ says it does not require an annual contract and offers monthly, no-contract plans. It does not offer a free trial; its FAQ describes a 60-day money-back guarantee instead.
  • How many trucks does Tank Track support? Tank Track's own FAQ describes it as ideal for septic businesses that manage between one and ten trucks, and says support for more than ten trucks is intended in a future update. A January 2025 Pumper product spotlight described support for up to 15 service trucks. Its newer pricing calculator goes higher, so ask them directly where the limit sits for your fleet.
  • Does Tank Track work with QuickBooks Desktop? Tank Track's FAQ says it integrates with QuickBooks Online. We found no QuickBooks Desktop integration on its site. RouteHouse connects to QuickBooks Online as standard, with QuickBooks Desktop sync available on request.
  • Does Tank Track map tank lids with GPS? We found no claim on Tank Track's website of capturing a GPS pin on a buried tank lid and navigating back to it. Its imports include tank type, capacity, location and depth as data fields. RouteHouse Pro captures GPS pins on the lid, pump chamber, junction box and drain field, and the next visit navigates straight to them.
  • What does RouteHouse cost for septic? RouteHouse is priced by the truck with unlimited users. Month to month it is $119, $179 or $299 per truck per month for Solo, Growth and Pro, plus a one-time $299 setup and data import. On the limited-time Year 2 free plan you pay for the first year and the second year is free: $1,188, $1,788 or $2,988 per truck covers 24 months. Grease trap service is included. Prices exclude applicable taxes.
