ServiceTitan is the most complete platform in field service, with more than 11,800 trade customers and a 4.4 out of 5 from 375 G2 reviews. It is also priced per technician, quoted only, and its own reviewers describe a product that isn't meant for everyone who gets sold it. Here are six alternatives with published prices — plus a warning about which “alternatives” are the same company.
Written by RouteHouse, who make one of the products on this list. We've said so in the first paragraph, and we've included the cases where ServiceTitan is the correct answer.
The single biggest difference between ServiceTitan and most of this list isn't features. It's that four of the six below will tell you what they charge without a sales call.

If you've been reading alternatives lists, you'll have seen Aspire recommended for commercial landscape, FieldRoutes for pest control and lawn, and Crew Control for smaller landscape operations. All three are ServiceTitan companies. Aspire's own site describes its products as being “in the ServiceTitan family,” and FieldRoutes' footer reads “a ServiceTitan company.”
None of that makes them bad software — Aspire is the mid-market standard in commercial landscape for good reason. But if your reason for leaving is the commercial model rather than the feature set, moving to a sister product may not change what you were trying to change.
The same consolidation has happened across the trades. ServiceCore acquired Docket in May 2023, so the two largest roll-off comparison sites share a parent. LMN, SingleOps and Greenius all moved under the Granum brand in October 2025, which most published comparisons still haven't caught up with. And Routeware acquired Wastech, the owner of the RUBICONSmartCity and RUBICONPro hauler platforms, in August 2024. Roughly half the “independent” recommendations in this category are now three names from one owner.

| Scale it's built for | Independent fleets, including large multi-trade operators running several editions from one back office. | More than 11,800 trade customers, weighted to large HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors. |
| Trades | Septic, sewer & drain, grease traps, wells & pumps, portable restrooms, lawn & landscape, roll-off in early access. | Broad home services, with a dedicated septic page. No grease trap, portable restroom or rental-asset coverage found. |
| Getting started | First routes built with you on a call. Most operators run live the same week. | Reviewers describe a long implementation and a steep learning curve. No published timeline. |
| Leaving | We credit the months left on your current agreement — one free month for each, up to twelve. | Terms not published. One G2 reviewer describes $3,500 a month “with no reasonable path to terminate.” |
| Third-party review base | None yet. We launched in 2026 with no Capterra or G2 profile. If reviews are how you buy, that counts against us today. | 4.4 out of 5 from 375 G2 reviews. |

Only capabilities that ship today, and only gaps we confirmed on the vendor's own feature and industry pages. Three rows near the bottom are table stakes that everyone has, us included — they're here on purpose, so you can see which rows actually separate the products.

Verified 26 August 2026 against each vendor's own feature and industry pages. “Not found” means we checked and the capability is absent from their published material — not that it cannot be approximated with custom fields. Every general platform here has a form builder; the distinction we are drawing is between a form that holds a number and a field that feeds a report. Sources: Jobber · Housecall Pro · ServiceTitan · Service Fusion · FieldPulse
Where we are thinner today. Our QuickBooks push is one-way to QuickBooks Online; Desktop sync and broader accounting support are coming rather than shipped, and Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Service Fusion and FieldPulse already do Desktop. And our manifest is a universal form — it captures gallons, disposal site, weight ticket, permit and signature, but if your state mandates its own numbered form, those are in build. Both matter to some operators, and we would rather say so now than on week three.
It's the category leader, and there are businesses where nothing else will do.
The recurring story in the reviews isn't that the software is bad — it's that it was sold to a business that couldn't absorb it. One reviewer puts it flatly: “Despite what they may tell you, this isn't meant for small businesses.”
If you're being quoted per technician for a platform whose configuration takes months and you don't have someone whose job is to own it, that's worth pausing on before signing — whoever you sign with.
Verbatim from ServiceTitan's public G2 reviews, which average 4.4 out of 5 across 375 reviews. Read them as the shape of the downside, not as the average experience.
“Paying for software that we no longer use has placed a financial burden” — at “$3,500 per month with no reasonable path to terminate.”
Verified G2 reviewer — G2“Despite what they may tell you, this isn't meant for small businesses”
Verified G2 reviewer — G2“The initial setup was terrible, involving long hours, stressful nights, and correcting mistakes.”
Verified G2 reviewer — G2“Users face a steep learning curve and often struggle with setup, requiring additional training.”
Verified G2 reviewer — G2“There's a noticeable discrepancy in the level of knowledge and efficiency between different support agents.”
Verified G2 reviewer — G2Three themes recur: cost relative to size, implementation effort, and the difficulty of getting out. All three are commercial rather than technical — which is why moving to a sister product may not fix them.
Built for route-based work rather than dispatch-to-a-service-call work: septic, sewer and drain, grease traps, wells and pumps, portable restrooms, lawn and landscape, with roll-off in early access. Service reports finished in the truck, GPS tank and lid mapping, route sequencing, customer texts, one-way push to QuickBooks Online. Several trades run out of one back office.
The commercial model is deliberately the opposite of a quoted per-technician platform: price on the site, priced by the truck, unlimited people. The honest weakness is that we're new and have no independent review record.
The best-reviewed platform in the category — 4.6 out of 5 from 1,475 Capterra and 527 G2 reviews — and the usual landing spot for operators who found ServiceTitan too heavy. Published pricing, three contract options including no commitment, and a genuinely free trial.
Watch the seats, and check your trade is covered: septic, grease traps, portable restrooms and sewer are all absent from Jobber's industries directory. More on that here.
200,000+ professionals and 4.7 out of 5 from 2,743 Capterra reviews. Its published no-long-term-contract stance is the direct answer to the termination complaints above, and it's the vendor's own wording rather than our characterisation.
The per-seat rate is the highest here, and reviewers consistently flag the desktop interface and reporting depth.
Flat per company with unlimited users on every plan and month-to-month billing. If what you want to escape is per-seat or per-technician pricing, this is the cleanest published answer in general field service.
Its own reviewers report mobile lag and weak inventory tracking, so test both against your workflow before committing.
4.6 out of 5 from 490 Capterra reviews, with a septic-specific page covering pumping, emergency repairs and installations. A reasonable middle option between a general platform and a trade-specific one.
Pricing is quote-only and seat-based, and Capterra shows no free trial — so on the two things that most often drive people off ServiceTitan, it behaves similarly.
The liquid-waste and portable sanitation incumbent, and the right shortlist entry if that's your trade. Note that it shares ServiceTitan's two most-complained-about commercial traits: no published price, and an annual contract. Implementation is six to twelve weeks by their own account. Fuller breakdown here.
Operators rarely stay on software they've outgrown because they like it. They stay because switching looks like a month of evenings, and because there's a contract with months left on it. We took both of those off the table.
Send us an export — customers, sites, tanks and equipment, service history, your price book. We load it, we reconcile it against your records, and you sign off before anything goes live. Nobody on your team is re-typing a customer list at nine at night.
Still inside an annual contract? We credit the months you have left on it — one free month of RouteHouse for every full month remaining, up to twelve. You don't pay two vendors to leave one.
We build your first routes together, on a call, with your real jobs and your real terminology. Not a help-centre article and a login, and not a project plan measured in weeks.
Switching credit: one free month for each full month remaining on your current provider's agreement, to a maximum of twelve, and a combined maximum of fifteen free months when stacked with any other offer running at the time. A copy of your existing agreement is required. Full terms on the payment terms page.
Every platform on this page runs on the same handful of cloud providers we do. The billion-dollar vendors aren't running better servers — they're running the same ones, with more layers of people between you and whoever can actually change the software.
RouteHouse is founder-led. When you ask for a field on a report or a change to how a route sorts, it goes to the people writing the code — not into a feedback portal to be counted. That isn't a claim about how big we are. It's a claim about how far your request has to travel.
Trade software is full of features that were promised for last spring. We ship continuously, we tell you what we're working on, and if we can't do something we say so instead of parking it. Customers on the phone with us have changed the product more than once.
Priced by the truck with unlimited office staff and crew, so adding people never costs you anything, and adding trucks costs exactly what the page says. The operators we work best with are the ones with real fleets and more than one trade running out of one back office.
Our system status is public at getroutehouse.com/status — the field app and sync, reports and photos, the database, email delivery and address lookup, each checked live and refreshed every 45 seconds, whether or not anything is wrong. We monitor the platform continuously and your data is backed up on a regular schedule.
Founder-led doesn't mean run out of a garage. It means the person who answers the phone is the person who gets paged.
Twenty minutes, no deck, no discovery call before the demo. Bring a real route and we'll run it through RouteHouse while you watch. If you need what ServiceTitan does, we'll tell you on the call.
